Pump production for over 80 years

The Hellfrich company, Oranienburger Pumpenfabrik, was founded in 1936. In 1949, it was reestablished under the name ORPU. The company manufactured and repaired pumps and hydrophore systems.

In 1955, ORPU merged with Elektromaschinen- und Apparatebau to form VEB Metallwerk Oranienburg. New pump and compressor products were developed and produced. At the beginning of the 1970s, the company was integrated into VEB Kombinat Pumpen und Verdichter Halle.

After the limited liability company was founded in 1990, the company was privatized on January 1, 1993, under the name ORPU Oranienburger Pumpen, Verdichter und Maschinenbau GmbH.

As a company affiliated with oddesse Pumpen- und Motorenfabrik GmbH, ORPU has been operating under the name ORPU Pumpenfabrik GmbH since 2006.
